Landscape Lighting That Works Year-Round

A well-lit exterior does three things: it makes your home safer, more welcoming, and more beautiful. At Raintree, we design and install low-voltage LED landscape lighting systems built to handle Chicagoland winters — no corroded fixtures, no flickering, no callbacks.

Path & Walkway Lighting

Illuminate driveways, walkways, and garden paths with low-profile path lights:

  • Cast brass and aluminum fixtures rated for freeze-thaw cycles
  • Warm white (2700–3000K) for an inviting, natural look
  • Properly spaced to light the path without hot spots or harsh pooling
  • Buried wire runs for a clean, invisible installation

Architectural Uplighting

Highlight your home’s facade, trees, and landscaping features:

  • In-ground uplights for trees, feature plants, and columns
  • Accent spotlights for architectural details, shutters, and entryways
  • Directional, adjustable fixtures to focus light exactly where it belongs
  • Avoids the “prison yard” effect of over-lit properties — we light selectively

Low-Voltage LED Systems

All our installations use 12V low-voltage LED fixtures for:

  • 80–90% lower energy consumption versus halogen
  • 25,000–50,000 hour rated bulb life
  • Cooler operation, safer for plant material near fixtures
  • Simple future bulb and fixture replacement without digging

Smart Transformer Upgrades

Replace your old mechanical timer transformer with a smart unit:

  • VOLT, Kichler, and Hunza smart transformers available
  • Set precise sunrise/sunset schedules that auto-adjust year-round
  • Zone control to run different areas at different times
  • Phone app control and monitoring
  • Automatic voltage regulation to protect fixture life

Design & Installation Process

  1. Site walk — we assess your home’s architecture, existing landscaping, and goals
  2. Layout plan — fixture placement, wire routing, transformer location
  3. Installation — one-day install for most residential systems
  4. Night walk — we return after dark to aim and adjust every fixture
